Considering the major contributions he made to the patriot shell he was destined to ensure his place in American history. He went so far to even refer to himself as an, obnoxious, suspected and unpopular character. John Adams also believed that independence from Britain would be necessary for the American colonies: he was fully committed to American independence. He was a visible member of the resistance action that questioned Parliaments right to tax the American colonies. Adams became a leading embark in the opposition of the British. He was one of the most scrupulous radicals in the movement for American independence, shown by his defense of the British soldiers that had taken part in the Boston Massacre. He drafted what would beget the Massachusetts constitution in 1780, which became the model for other responsibility constitutions. Adams also helped negotiate the terms for the Treaty of Paris, which was signed kinfolk 3, 1783 and marked the end of the American Revolution.
