Explain how McCarthyism affected the lives and political thinking of population in the U.S.

The McCarthyism era was started by Wisconsin Senator named Joseph R. McCarthy. He had many people that had the equal beliefs. His beliefs along with his fellow witch hunters changed the lives of many people. The anti-Communist theme and the sanctions that were dress on individuals without proper evidence. Many people were affected by the accusations of Senator McCarthy. There were many workers in the education, g everywherenment, and sometimes the entertainment industries that were ensnare on a black list. Many times, there were people who were investigated or interrogated; this caused some of people to become jailed or to lose their jobs.
It seemed at this time anyone that was not considered the average at that time was a common target for the McCarthyism.. People who were popular opinion to be homosexual or a international cathode-ray oscilloscope were perfect targets to be accused of being a card-carrying Communists. This make fear and hatred among the conservatives, Catholic attractors and other leader to cause doubt in the foreign, liberals and anyone else that did not fit the norm for that time.


Defend McCarthyism as appropriate or criticize it as inappropriate for the time in which it occurred.




The McCarthyism was deemed inappropriate; it caused a sess hysteria within the country. There was a fear of communists faculty take over the country. Many of the accusations were based on incredulity and not facts. This spread fear and destroyed many lives over assumptions and not facts. Many were afraid of McCarthy; he manipulated other peoples fate. Anyone that who verbalise against him or the government was labeled a communist. As the capital of Massachusetts Post pointed out: Attacking him (McCarthy) is regarded as a definite method of committing suicide. ( Spartacus, 2011)
