Annas beleaguering With the beginning of the Siege of Leningrad, the main constituent in the novel has fallen under a Siege herself. In the basic narrative rank she is portrayed to be a strong, practical and persevering character and a idealist too. However, in the end of that narrative sequence, it is observed that her personality was altered by the circumstances she is in when she destroys the vegetable plan at the dacha. On one level these changes argon normal in the semipolitical situation which she lives amidst. But on a deeper level these changes are ca uptaked by her frustrated psychological state during the events and alterations occurring in her life history without any warnings. The vegetable diagram represents memories of summers at the dacha that she loved. It represented innocence, dreams and necessity in survival and in the future. Annas perspective towards the plot at first was very compassionate and artful. That was her personality. Her vegetable plo t was a display of how she was practical, hardworking, caring and in conceal. However that does not last long. In the end of that first narrative sequence Anna goes adventure to the dacha to take food back home to be their nourishment during the siege since the supplies would be drop off and they were already low.

This signifies her need to take as often hope and memories as she can, to help her survive those trying times. On the other hand, her attitude towards the plot has changed. She is no longer so caring, she hurries and grabs anything she can and destroys what is left, so the Germans would not find an ything to make use of. That proves that she ! has lost control of her emotions and is panicking; she is no longer the calm and hoard person she was. The business organisation and paranoia increase inside her, which is what the glossa she had represented, which also shows how violent and self-protective she has become.
